Riocht na TirNeart is a nation with a mixture of two cultures ,Sino-Gaelic mixture. This means that the best of both cultures have been combined to create a unique and long lasting culture( for a quick overview click here.
The major influence in the development of Riocht Na TirNeart is the Celtic Irish culture, or the indigenous culture of Irish Isle. This can be seen in the official language of the Kingdom - Gaelic.
The Gaelic language is the main vessel for the culture of the kingdom, in Gaelic there is sayin- Tír gan teanga, tír gan anam- A land with a language is a land with out a soul. FOr more infor mation on the lanaguage of the kingdom follow the link Languages of RnTN.
An important part of our Celtic culture is art and folklore. In our culture, as in all Celtic cultures knots play an important part in art. The knot symbolizes eternity and continuity, just as we hope and know our nation will last forever.
One of the pivotal features of our culture is the High King ( An ard Ri - pronounced as On ord ree). The High King symbolizes and embodies all of what our culture and nation is. The High King also blends in the Sino (Or Chinese) aspect of our nation.
The High King is also known as "son of heaven". This is not to say that the High King is divine, far from it. This is to symbolize that the high king is the first and for most citizen of the realm and above all other. The High King is also known as the most sacred and blessed this is to symbolize that the monarch is far removed from the daily run of the mill matters and separate from all other.
